Shree Laxminarasimha Temple

Shree Laxminarasimha Temple

The Shree Laxminarasimha temple is believed to have been constructed between 1509 and 1529, during the rule of Krishna Deva Raya, Emperor of the Vijayanagara Empire. The management of the temple is believed to have passed through three or more sects of Hindu communities before being completely forgotten in history.

The credit for the revival of the temple goes to the Kotraguthu family(aliya santhana). The family performed the “Ashtamangala prashna” and as a remedy, the present structure of the temple was constructed in 1942 under the leadership of Subbanna Pakala.

Presently, the temple is run by Shri Padmanabha Rai and K Laxminaraynan Alva of the Kotraguthu family. To assist the management of the temple Sri. K.T.Rai (Advocate, Mumbai) founded a charitable trust named as Kalyani Holding Charitable Trust. The above trust is registered under Income Tax Act as Religious Charitable Trust.
